A remarkable alteration and addition project with repeat clients who lived overseas.

This project features a split skillion roof with high ceilings as a way of elevating the property to create a sense of scale and volume, which also ensures that the house is flooded with natural light.

With its soaring ceilings, expansive views along with the natural stone, striking timber and beautiful joinery, this project has received a well-deserved feature in Inside Out Magazine @insideoutmag and soon to be featured at Australia's Best Home @australiasbesthouse.

A carefully curated palette of warm, neutral, and cool tones imparts a subtle charm to this project.

The extensive use of light timber prominently enhances the warmth of the space. The walls feature Odessa oak cladding from Lamicolor, adding a timeless touch.

The Scandi-inspired kitchen include smart design features such as plenty of pull-out storage, a deep undermount sink to ease with cleaning and achieve a seamless finish on the benchtop, and mirror splash back to maximise the natural light spread throughout the whole kitchen.

Description: One of the standout features of this house is the expansive raked gable ceiling, strategically designed to capture panoramic views of both the beach and the district.

To achieve the desired modern and contemporary aesthetic, we employed a combination of render and cement, seamlessly integrating the structure into its surroundings while maintaining a sophisticated appearance.

The commanding, moody colour palette of this house perfectly complements the richness of the timber. The split skillion roof idea took root for three reasons: light infusion, a commanding street presence, and scaling perfection for the upper chambers. The trifecta of the rear deck, BBQ area, and kitchen is perfect for creating unforgettable memories.

Turning a simple backyard and deck into a stunning pool and landscape was no small feat.

This project demanded meticulous planning and skilled execution - the old pool was removed and a new one was craned in. An architectural pool house with a floating timber-wrapped beam above the doors was built, and the front and backyards were landscaped. Blackbutt cladding was installed with custom AC grills routed in, Beautiful microcement was then placed in the bathroom and wet bar giving some texture. The rear house doors were opened up, and a new driveway, front gate, and fencing have been added.

The result: a charming Hamptons style house with a refreshed facade, a new pool, a stylish pool house, and beautifully landscaped yards for the clients to enjoy.
